Life is faster, more impatient, more visual. Cities transform, villages empty or reinvent themselves, migration reshapes communities, and climate change alters landscapes we once thought permanent. Yet we rarely see all of this together. “One Day in Europe” wants to freeze exactly that tension – between memory and change – in a single, unforgettable day.
What is "One day in Europe"?
Imagine you could freeze a full day of life on an entire continent. Imagine being in thousands of places at the same time. Imagine uniting hundreds of millions of people around one shared story. That is the idea behind “One Day in Europe”. For 24 hours on one chosen day, photographers across the continent will capture: people and their daily lives, culture, work and celebrations, environment and climate, traditions faiths and lifestyle
The result will be a collective portrait of Europe in a single day, showing both our differences and what we share.
We plan to repeat the project after ten years to compare how Europe has changed – visually, socially and culturally – across a full generation.
